The Illinois Heart and Vascular Foundation, formerly Chicagoland Heart Foundation, is a charitable organization developed with the assistance of the physicians and staff of Illinois Heart and Vascular, formerly West Suburban Cardiologists.
Our Mission and Vision:
The mission of the Illinois Heart and Vascular Foundation is to be a private charitable foundation dedicated to the advancement of clinical research, the promotion of education and the delivery of cardiac care to the medically indigent in our communities.
Our vision is to provide the most advanced high quality cutting edge research opportunities to benefit the current cardiovascular and peripheral vascular patients and for the patients who will benefit in the future.
The activities of the organization are in three specific areas, including:
- Clinical Research Since its inception in 2001, the Foundation has participated in and completed many clinical trials including studies on acute myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, claudication, congestive heart failure, lipid management, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and atrial fibrillation. The Foundation is committed to participating in clinical trials on an ongoing basis.
- Education The Foundation sponsors, supports. and /or coordinates several educational seminars each year. This includes seminars for primary care physicians, cardiologists, and the general public encompassing the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease.
- Outreach The Foundation provides regular screenings at senior centers, health fairs, and community-sponsored events. Monthly public screenings are planned in various locales. In addition to general cardiovascular assessment, screenings for hypertension, lipids, and peripheral vascular disease are also included.
